The Sega

WHO ARE THE SEGA?
The Sega are an unreached people group in South Asia whose population reaches nearly 100,000.
HOW DID FBB ADOPT THE SEGA AS A PEOPLE GROUP?
In 2013, after months of prayer and fasting, God led FBB to adopt a people group in South Asia called the Sega people group.
HOW DO WE REACH THE SEGA?
Since FBB adopted the Sega, we have sent dozens of teams to explore the region in order to discover the location of the Sega, to share the gospel with them, to connect with local churches in the region, and to train and encourage the pastors who live and work among the Sega.
Over the last several years, thousands of prayers have been lifted from the voice of FBB members on behalf of the Sega. As a result, many Sega have come to faith in Jesus since the time FBB adopted them as our people group. In recent days, FBB’s attempts to form relationships with pastors has given FBB a resource to connect new Sega believers with a pastor who can disciple them.
Our work among the Sega stalled during the pandemic, but in recent days, connections with a national partner and local pastors is being renewed.
PRAYER
For 2022, please pray for the Sega in the following ways:
- Pray that the Sega will respond to God’s drawing them to Himself
- Pray that pastors and other believers will have the conviction to reach their villages for Christ
- Pray that the Sega believers will be willing to receive discipleship and develop a burden for their own people
- Pray for at least one church to be started among the Sega
- Pray that Sega believers would become a missionary force for the gospel in their region
- Pray that when we return to visit the Sega, we will discover that God has continued to work among the Sega
- Pray for God to call someone, or a couple, from our own congregation to spend at least a year on the ground in order to have a long-term presence among the Sega.
