MISSION

Source of Hope Indonesia (Yayasan Sumber Harapan Indonesia) is a holistic agricultural ministry built to support discipling Indonesians and enabling them to go wherever and do whatever God calls them to do.

HISTORY

Ron and Kim Linegar moved to Indonesia more than twelve years ago with the vision, desire, and compassion to begin ministry among the unreached people of Indonesia. They landed in Hutanomorah in North Sumatra and established work in the area quickly. 

Their vision was for a sustainable discipleship ministry financially and educationally supported by an agricultural ministry with goal to equip students with biblical understanding and practical skills. They students would then go to other villages to serve new communities and to share the gospel. At first, they focused on establishing the agricultural ministry while loving those in the village. 

Since that time, with God’s vision in hand and a practical goal in mind, the Linegars also established children’s, teen, and women’s ministries where the bible has been taught and many have come to Christ. They have taught in the local university on multiple occasions often being allowed to share the gospel with hundreds of students at a time. The impact on their ministry has blessed the community financially and spiritually. 

HOW TO BE INVOLVED

• Keep Source of Hope Indonesia and the Linegars in your regular prayers. The 2022 FBB missions prayer calendar calls for our church to pray for them on the 16th of every month. 
• Request to be included on their newsletter distribution at ron@yshindonesia.net. 
• Consider going on a future mission trip to join the Linegars in what God is doing within and through their ministry.
