MISSION
The mission of the Belton Hope House Ministry is to have as much fun as possible as we teach, encourage, and empower families in our community to come to and grow in a relationship with Jesus.
THEIR WORK
Todd and Crista Blackhurst have been married since 1994. They met at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor from which they both graduated. After they married, they spent time in the ministry. Through their experiences on mission, particularly after a time in Taiwan, the Blackhurst family surrendered to a call to join God in Taiwan.
So, in 2013, the Blackhursts sold most of their belongings, packed up their entire family, and moved to the island, not knowing exactly what God would have them do. They simply wanted to be obedient to God’s leading.
Since that time, God has worked in incredible ways. Todd worked hard to learn Mandarin so he could carry out ministry in both English and Chinese. They started Taichung International Fellowship an outreach for Taiwanese and to serve expatriates living in Taiwan. It is now one of the largest international churches in Taiwan. Mission Taiwan has started outreach bible studies on five university campuses and hosted over 40 mission teams from U.S. churches. From the university outreach and mission teams, students are coming to faith regularly and being discipled within the local church. Mission Taiwan has a robust mission intern program for young people to come and experience missions. Most recently, Mission Taiwan has started a church planting emphasis with the desire to plant five churches in the near future. The have already planted one church, Hope Fellowship, and are nearly the launch of their second church plant.
